There are several ways to physically prevent birds from roosting or nesting in a specific area such as a bird barrier. This tends to be the best option when you do not mind having birds in the area but need to keep them from a specific spot. For example, is a certain bird entering and nesting in a part of your building's architecture has become a pest, bird control barriers such as netting will prevent future nesting. Sprays and gels discourage birds from inhabiting the area where they have been applied. They do not harm the birds but simply annoy them. Gels, for example, are often merely sticky and uncomfortable for the birds to have on their feet. Although these barriers are virtually invisible, they will have to be periodically reapplied. They also will not blockade an area that the birds can fly into instead of walking.
